Summer English Classes

Want some help studying English this summer?  Seats are available, and registration is open now for English classes at these 3 schools:

  • Framingham State University will have several English classes this summer – beginning in early July.  They’re available at many times, and many levels.  See more information, including a summary of classes and their times and costs.
  • A new private school in Framingham, Studio 3, will be offering some 4-week summer classes.  Classes start Monday July 17th.  See more information, including summary of classes and their times and costs.
  • Another new private school in Northborough, Literra, will also be offering two 7-week summer classes.  Classes start next week – Monday June 12th.  See more information, including summary of classes and their times and costs.  The first few new students who sign up for a class will get the first week of class for free.

There are also many libraries in MetroWest that will offer free Conversation Groups this summer.

English Tutors in Our Area

tutor  A tutor is a teacher who works with just one student, or maybe two.  Working with an English tutor can be a good way to improve your English more quickly, because you get to speak more, and work more on the kind of English help that you need.

Here is a list of places in our area that offer tutoring, and special services such as citizenship test assistance and accent reduction.  Some tutoring is offered free from generous volunteers.

Conversation Groups in Our Area

English Conversation Groups are free and informal.  They’re a great way to learn some English and practice your speaking. They usually meet once a week for 1 to 2 hours, and you attend when you can.  Here is an updated list of conversation groups in our area. Due to the pandemic, most of the places have groups that are either suspended or being offered online.  So unfortunately, space is more limited than usual.

  • Formal classes – some are free, some have a cost – where you are registered, and attend classes usually once or twice each week for many weeks.
  • Conversation Groups – these are free and informal.  They usually meet once a week for a few hours, and you attend when you can.
